Strange as it may sound, I have found that throughout all of the skills and habits I've learned over the years, learning to swim was one of the most impactful processes to shape me into who I am today.

Now to answer the question, no, I am not a secret olympic swimmer (that would be cool, huh?) —  but hear me out. The way I learned to swim was being thrown into the pool (w parental guidance, for legal reasons) and being told "you'll figure it out, you're not going to drown."

That concept has allowed me to feel as though I can tackle any challenge that comes my way. Whether in work, personal life, or anything in between, I feel as though my ability to take a step back and remain level-headed in all types of situations is what allows me to produce my best work while thinking both critically and creatively.

 

Knowing that in the long run I probably won't drown keeps me positive, excited and engaged about everything I am able to learn and produce - plus, what's life if we aren't kept on our toes a little, right?
